Have your say in the way our natural world is protected.

The Government is asking people to tell them what they like most about their local natural environment and what the Government should do to protect it.

The consultation lasts until 30th October 2010 and comments received will be used by the Government to eventually form new wildlife policies and laws.

CANAL RESTORATION WORK BEGINS SOON

Coombe Hill WorkDon't be alarmed if you visit Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust's Coombe Hill Nature Reserve and find lots of work being carried out - it's all for the benefit of wildlife.

Following the successful removal of scrub last year, more scrub removal along the northern edge of the canal will commence on 13 September.

The scale of this work may look quite alarming, but it will soon recover naturally and next summer we expect to report a dramatic improvement in plant and insect life along the canal, as we've seen on the south side of the canal since the first ...full article

Wear Your Wellies for Wildlife

It's that time of year again, when Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust ask you to get involved and wear your wellies to raise much-needed funds for wildlife in Gloucestershire.


What is it?
The concept is simple - organise a day where you and your colleagues, schoool or community group each pay £1 - or whatever donation you can give - to wear your wellies as you go about your business.

VACANCIES AT GLOUCESTERSHIRE WILDLIFE TRUST

Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust currently have three vacancies:

Marketing Assistant
(Maternity Cover - min 1 year period)

To assist the Marketing Manager in delivering the Trust's marketing strategy, in particular working on publications, website, email communication, interpretation, public relations and events.
Closing Date: 10 September, 9am


Lower Woods Nature Reserve Assistant
(2 days a week until March 2012)

To assist in the management of this 280ha nature reserve, in particular to develop and manage an economically and environmentally sustainable firewood business.
